Jaipur blue pottery is a native craft of Persia that was brought to India by the Mughals. Jaipur harbored the craft and became the main center for blue pottery. The pottery is predominantly colored in striking cobalt blue color and hence gets its name as Jaipur blue pottery. Unlike other ceramics, blue pottery is not made from clay. Blue pottery uses quartz stone powder, powdered glass, borax, gum and multani mitti(fuller's earth). We source our blue pottery from a cooperative in the rural village Kot Jewar of Jaipur. The cooperative provides employment opportunities to the local youth and is also preserving the traditional craft. All ceramics are safe for use in microwave and dishwasher.
