Ikat weaving is practiced widely in several villages across Nalgonda district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Ikkat weaving is a type of tie and dye fabric. Yarn is bundled and dyed to create patterns on the fabric during weaving. Ikkat weaving is a laborious and skilled process. Ikkat weaving is a multiple step process that involves cleaning and separating the yarn, tying, dyeing, weaving and performing quality checks.
